A TOTALLY MADE UP TRUE LECTURE

A lecture by Alan Fisher

Deriving its title from his one-man show A Totally Made Up True Story, ALAN FISHER has created a lecture where he adds an array of other magical routines he’s developed over the last half century to the many effects he presents in his “sharing” talk. It will include work with cards, paper, sponge balls, mentalism and more for both close-up and parlor. He’ll also look at integrating theatrics & music into magic through storytelling as well as how to write original patter, making the magic your own, and being a top-notch entertainer. There’ll be lots of freebies, oodles of stories, interesting magic and tons of laughs along the way with plenty of time for Questions & Answers and general silliness. Here’s what will be covered:

Monte Manifesto – Alan’s thoughts and handling of the classic Color Monte packet effect.

$165 Receipt – Using 9 playing cards and a chart of popular stores, 2 volunteers have free choices to create a series of numbers that add up to magic.

The Kard Kube – Alan’s unique take on the card-in-impossible-location concept using a very clever original prop.

Buddha Papers for Magician Apprentices – a great idea for youth magic groups or any time you’re asked to teach magic to kids. Also, a unique up-sell for birthday parties.

Writing Original Patter – Alan walks you through a methodology for writing original patter to fit the props you already own. Includes full script for an original presentation for “The Cords of Fantasia.”

Wizard’s Card Rise – a fun take on the classic Chopstick Card Rise effect drawn from the wizarding world of Harry Potter®.

Color of Numbers –an idea Alan has developed into 3 different mentalism routines for close-up or parlor.

What’s Your Sign – The Next Generation – a twist on an Aldo Colombini effect that he loved and gave his blessing to Alan to release.

Making the Magic Your Own – rather than just say to do it, Alan gives you his thoughts on multiple ways you can actually make the magic your own.

Counting on History – uses a mentalism concept called “The Kruskal Count” that Alan has applied to historical documents and speeches for school and/or library shows as well as bible verses for Sunday School programs.

Truly Impromptu Book Test – Alan’s reworking of the “Himber Book Test” from Tarbell. A totally impromptu book test you can do with borrowed books that was first published in the June 2012 issue of MUM.
